Dorman Property Management

I bought my condo at Firefly less than 1 year ago. Never received any return calls from my HOA manager. Rarely see any work done. But I just got an e-mail that my monthly HOA would be going up for a SECOND TIME IN UNDER A YEAR BY $130 from when I bought it! HOA was $165 when I bought in September. Then by October it was $200. Now in August it’ll be $295? I’d like to talk to them about it, but they waited til after they close at noon on Friday to send the email from their meeting last week. What a joke! UPDATE: Since this post there have been an influx of homeless people smoking fentanyl and methamphetamines in our common areas. Burns on the carpeted stairs and on the railings. Tampering or disengaging the fire alarms and fire extinguisher cases. The only reason I know it’s fentanyl is because one of the several people arrested for trespassing was caught with it. When I got a message back from M. Foland, I was told “ Unfortunately, associations do not have a duty to protect or provide security for the association, and this is a matter in which it is better to have the correct authorities provide security (the police, private security companies, etc).” multiple residents have requested code changes on the door with no results in months. The cops have been here over 2 dozen times and they refuse to do anything. I’ve never seen or spoken to a single “property manager” at the property. As long as you’re contractually obligated to pay for their negligence, the don’t give a damn

Mandy has been the BEST ever since I started working with her and Dorman in 8/22! Any time I've needed anything or had any questions she has always been very helpful. I had a pretty unique and complicated situation when the time came for me to renew my lease. She was great and giving me all of my options so that I could make the best decision for me. And she is always very nice!

I’m not sure how Dorman gets away with the things they do. When I moved into this rental home the house was not properly cleaned, there was tons of damage, paint chipped and holes in the wall everywhere. This rental has been issue after issue ever since I moved in. I’m not sure how this property passed an inspection with all the issues that have arose. When I place a work order it takes at least a week if not more to get an answer. Dorman let my dogs and I go without AC for an entire month during July where the house was 83+ degrees every single day. The only reason the AC got fixed after a month is because the owner contacted me and scheduled the maintenance for me. This rental company is horrible. They charge you an insane amount of fees when you move in, and I’m sure when you move out too. I also want to add that I have never once met my property manager and have maybe been in contact with her twice. They are very unresponsive and do not care about their tenants. Save yourself and rent literally anywhere else in the Springs than with Dorman.

Not sure how these people are still operating. Terrible company and I would completely avoid renting anything they have anything to do with. I was renting an apartment in one of their condos in CO Springs and they absolutely ruined the place. They flat out told me via email that my opinions on issues do not matter because I was not an owner. The building was frequently subject to car break-ins, hit and run damage on cars, stolen packages, loose garbage everywhere, failure to treat for ice/snow, you name it. When I moved out, there had been washing units out of service since this summer. They will not fix them, and they raise the prices to do laundry on the remaining units. No cameras or any sort of security whatsoever. They refused to assist me when another tenant’s dog would frequently run up to and jump on me without a leash (very allergic to dogs). Doors don’t always lock to enter the building, they refuse to change 20+ year old keys/locks, they increase HOA fees from previous association yet do less. They blocked off the pool/hot tub area, they lock us out of the laundry rooms with zero notice. Finally had another tenant tell me that the key to the laundry room is the exact same key that you use to enter the building. Because that absolutely makes sense for security, right? Beeping smoke alarms throughout the building that they refuse to fix, zero investment in anything that actually matters… Stay away from any Dorman properties and especially Skyway Condos! We bought a house and got away from these people and couldn’t be happier. Attached some pictures as proof of some of my complaints.

Dorman are very lazy and didn’t give me my full refund despite my absolute best effort. Deanna Sicurella was my property manager and never made a noticeable effort to return my calls or make any positive change. They all hide behind their emails and receptionists while never showing face or talking to you. I rented an apartment in a 3 story town home. The place was a disaster on the outside but I kept my apartment cleaner than any place I've ever lived on the inside in hopes I’d receive my full refund later on. No pets, smoking, spills, holes, etc. One of the other tenants had 3 dogs (they were only allowed one) and let them poop and pee all over my front porch and the surrounding area. The neighbor also hoarded junk and made the yard an eyesore. They refused to take responsibility for the mess they and their pets made. I told dorman one day and they responded by asking me for proof and pictures. They could have simply driven by and seen the disaster yet they made me do the work for no reward. Nothing ever changed or came of the disgusting situation so I moved out. Upon moving out, I paid almost $500 out of my own pocket to clean my apt and it's carpet. Well, Dorman took a sweet $107 out of my deposit return because the cleaning service I used (one they recommended) left behind an "odor" after cleaning my carpet. I checked the results immediately after they cleaned and it smelled like somebody cleaned a carpet… Also, how is that my responsibility? They don't allow you to clean the carpet yourself but charge you because the cleaning service didn't leave it smelling like roses but instead like cleaner and perhaps soap? Really slick of them taking just enough money to where it's not worth the trouble of disputing it. This is the worst PM company I've rented with and I've lived in multiple states for years and years. Do yourself a favor and avoid these big PM companies. Find one where the people will talk to you and actually care about your home instead of draining you of money while you live in filth. I unfortunately had to learn this lesson the hard way. Good actions should be rewarded. Especially when your the only one performing them.
